Disabling Guest Accounts

To Disable the Guest Account:

  1. Select the Start button on the lower, left hand side of the screen.
  2. From the menu that pops up, select the Settings submenu and select the Control Panel option. This will open the Control Panel window.
  3. In the Control Panel window, select Users and Passwords.
  4. In the Users and Passwords window, select the Advanced tab.
  5. In the section titled Advanced User Management, click the button labeled Advanced. This will open the window labeled Local Users and Groups
  6. In the new window, select the Users folder, this will bring up the list of system users.
  7. Right-Click on the Guest account and select Properties
  8. Turn on the checkbox labeled Account is Disabled
  9. Click the Apply button and then close all of the various windows.
